Before You Start
You need an iPad or iPhone on iPadOS or iOS 26 or later, with a passcode set, and a network connection for pairing.
- On the iPad, set a passcode in Settings › Face ID & Passcode, turn off notifications from other apps, and turn on Find My.
Install Agoo Kiosk. The apps page on agoohq.com has it, and Agoo's team shows early-access organisations how to install it on iPad and iPhone until it's in the App Store.
- Open Agoo Kiosk. After the short intro, it shows Set up this kiosk.
In the Console, go to ConsoleDevicesPair a device, choose A tablet or phone, the site, entrance and mode, then select Create code.
- On the iPad, tap Scan the pairing code and point the camera at the QR code on your screen, or type the code.
- Allow the camera when asked. Your welcome screen appears.
- Set the device PIN in Devices, then lock the iPad to Agoo with Guided Access.
Good to Know
- Use an Apple Account that belongs to your organisation, not someone's personal one.
- iPads have no NFC reader, so staff can't tap cards on them. They use their badge or PIN instead.
- Keep the iPad on charge all day, and put the charger on a UPS if you have one.
- Letters in the code can be typed in lower case, and the dash is optional.
If Something Goes Wrong
- "Pairing didn't work. Try again." Check the iPad is online and the code hasn't run out, then make a new one with New code.
- The camera won't open. Allow it for Agoo Kiosk in Settings › Agoo Kiosk › Camera.
- Your brand colours look wrong. Turn off True Tone and Night Shift in the iPad's display settings.
