Set Up Leave Types

Change Ghana's starting leave types, or add your own, with allowances, carry-over and certificates.

  1. Go to ConsoleAttendanceLeave and open Types.

  2. Select a type to change it, or Add a type for a new one.
  3. Set its Name, Colour, pay code and whether it's Paid, and whether it counts Working days or Calendar days.
  4. Set the Allowance: Each leave year, Each time, or No set allowance. Choose how unused days carry over.
  5. Under Certificates and approval, choose when a certificate is needed and whether A manager approves. Turn on Private for kinds such as sick leave. Select Save.

Good to Know

  • Every organisation starts with Ghana's eight types: annual, maternity, paternity, compassionate, sick, study, unpaid and other leave.
  • Agoo keeps the defaults in line with the law. Nobody is left below a legal minimum.
  • A private type shows to line managers as Away. Only HR and the person see what kind of leave it is.
  • Archive a type you no longer use. Leave already taken keeps its type, and you can bring it back.
  • The pay code is what payroll files put this leave under.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • You can't see Types. Only HR, Owners and Admins manage leave types.
  • Agoo warns you before you save carry-over. Forfeiting annual leave is legally uncertain in Ghana. Read the warning before you go ahead.
  • A payroll file won't make. A leave type in it has no pay code. Add one here.
