Use NFC Staff Cards at the Kiosk

Link a staff card or key fob to a person so they can clock in by tapping it on the kiosk.

Before You Start

Use 13.56 MHz NFC cards, fobs or stickers (the kind phones read, such as MIFARE). Older 125 kHz proximity cards won't work. Cards are read by an Android kiosk with NFC. The iPhone and iPad Agoo Kiosk app doesn't read cards yet.

  1. Open the person in ConsolePeopleDirectory.

  2. Under clock-in, select Link a card.
  3. Type the Card number. It's printed on many cards; otherwise an NFC reader app on a phone shows it.
  4. Add a Label if you like, such as "Staff ID card", and select Link the card.

The card works at the person's sites from each kiosk's next sync. At the kiosk, they tap Staff clock-in, choose Tap your card and hold it where the kiosk shows.

Good to Know

  • The kiosk recognises the card itself, even offline.
  • A card belongs to one person. Unlink it from anyone else first.
  • Clocking in by card is turned on with your organisation's clock-in methods, or for one site in its settings.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • A card is lost. Open the person and select Unlink next to it. It stops working at once, and offline kiosks catch up when they sync.
  • Nothing happens when the card is tapped. Check the device has NFC, hold the card near the NFC area on the back of the tablet or phone, and check the card isn't an older proximity card.
