Choose Who Answers a Form

Take answers without a name, with a name if people like, from a checked email or an Agoo account, or from your own staff only, with one response each and a copy of their answers.

  • Plans: Every Forms level
  • Updated 28 October 2026
  • 2 min read
  1. Open the form and select the Settings tab.
  2. Under Who's answering, choose Nobody's name, A name if they like, A checked email or An Agoo account.
  3. In an organisation's workspace, with An Agoo account, turn on Your organisation's staff only to keep the form to your staff.
  4. With A checked email or An Agoo account, turn on One response a person if each person should answer once.
  5. Turn on Email people a copy of their answers if they should get a receipt.
  6. Select Publish so the change reaches the form.

Good to Know

  • With a checked email, people confirm their address with a six-digit code before they start. The address shows with each response and in exports.
  • With an Agoo account, people sign in with a code to their email or phone, then come straight back to the form. Their name and sign-in show with each response.
  • With staff only, people outside your organisation are told the form is for its staff, and can't answer.
  • Someone who has already answered is told so before they fill it in again, with their reference.
  • Receipts never include a sensitive answer.
  • With Nobody's name, say so on the form only if you mean to keep that promise.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • The switches are greyed out. Choose A checked email or An Agoo account first: it's how Agoo Forms knows who is answering.
  • There's no staff only switch. It shows only in a workspace that belongs to an organisation on Agoo.
  • A choice shows a lock. It needs a higher level. Move up in Billing.
  • Someone needs to change an answer they sent. With one response a person, they can't send another. They contact you with their reference.
