Good to Know

  • Every type starts with asking ahead on, opening two months before the new leave year, and no window.
  • People ask against next year's allowance, or what they'll have earned by then if it's earned month by month. Carried days count once they're known. This year's balance isn't touched.
  • To have leave taken within the calendar year, set Taken up to to 31 December and Don't carry over.
  • Staff see your rules in words in the Workspace app, and a request outside them is refused, naming the dates.
  • HR can record leave outside the rules with a reason, kept with the leave and in the audit trail.
  • Sick and maternity leave never have a window.
  • The Labour Act sets no date by which leave must be taken, so these are yours to decide. Agoo warns you where a choice could stand in someone's way.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • A date isn't accepted. Dates must fall every year, so 29 February isn't one, and the first date must come before the last in your leave year.
  • Someone's request is refused and shouldn't be. Check the type's dates here, or record it with a reason. See Record Leave for Someone.
  • The window says it runs backwards. Your leave year moved. It holds nobody back until you change its dates.
  • You can't see these settings. The type has no yearly allowance, or you aren't in HR, an Owner or an Admin.
