Alerts or Messages Aren't Reaching People

Fix hosts not hearing about arrivals, and visitors not getting their passes by SMS, WhatsApp or email.

  1. Check the person's details in ConsolePeopleDirectory: their mobile number and email are right, and they've accepted their invitation.

  2. Ask them to check their own choices in Notifications in the menu under their name. Their choices always win.
  3. For app alerts, ask them to install Agoo Workspace, sign in and allow notifications on their phone.
  4. In ConsoleSettingsNotifications, check the order Agoo tries, when it moves on, and your quiet hours.

  5. In ConsoleSettingsBilling, check you have SMS and WhatsApp left in your allowance or wallet.

Good to Know

  • Agoo tries the next channel in your order when a message can't be delivered in time.
  • In quiet hours, alerts wait until they end. Security holds and roll call always come through.
  • If the wallet runs out, SMS and WhatsApp aren't sent unless Send by email instead when SMS or WhatsApp can't be paid for is on.
  • WhatsApp is only ever used for people who chose it.
  • Emails from Agoo can land in spam or junk the first time. Ask people to mark them as safe.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • The notifications page says a channel is paused. A provider has a problem. Messages go by the next channel, and nothing is lost.
  • Only one person never gets alerts. Their number or email may be wrong, or they turned that alert off for themselves.
  • Nobody is getting SMS. Check your allowance and wallet, then Agoo's status page.
