Go to ConsolePeopleDirectory, open the person and choose the HR record tab.
- Select Change job.
Change what's different: Job title, Grade, Department, Position, Line manager, sites, Employment type, Contracted hours a week or the Contract and its dates.
- Set the day it Takes effect and say why.
- Select Apply now for today or a past date, or Schedule for the future date.
A scheduled change shows on the record with its date and applies by itself on the day.
Good to Know
- Turn on Send it for approval first to route it to whoever approves changes to jobs, as a line manager's proposal would be.
- Takes effect can be up to 90 days back or a year ahead.
- Every change is a line in their job history on the History tab, with the date, what it was before, who recorded it and why. Lines are never edited: a correction is a new line.
- Call off stops a change waiting for approval or its date. It stays in the history as called off.
If Something Goes Wrong
- A change shows "Couldn't be applied". Something changed before its date, such as the position being filled. Make a new change.
- You can't choose a position. Only a vacant one, or the one they hold, can be chosen. Positions are on Growth and above.
- You can't change someone at another site. HR limited to some sites changes the jobs of people at those sites only.
