Understand How the Agoo Reviews Score Works

Read a place's score with confidence: how it's worked out, when it shows, and what never changes it.

  1. Open a place's page and look at its score, with how many reviews it's made from and the spread of stars.
  2. Open a branch to see that branch's own score. The business score pools every branch's reviews.
  3. For the full rule with a worked example, open How scores work at agoo.reviews/how-the-score-works.

Good to Know

  • Under a score, open why to see how it moved over the last 90 days: what new reviews did and what time did. The parts add up to the change.

  • Where Agoo kept the score from 90 days ago, it reads In the last 90 days, and reviews edited or removed since have their own line. Where it didn't, it reads On today's reviews: it's worked out from the reviews published now, so reviews removed since aren't in it and edits count as they read now.

  • Every place starts as if it already had 5 reviews of 3.5 stars, so one review can't make it perfect or sink it.

  • A review counts fully when it's new, and its weight halves every 12 months. Reviews older than 24 months stay on the page but stop counting.

  • A score shows once a place has 3 reviews in the last 24 months. Until then the page says "No score yet".

  • Top rated lists use the score alone, by one published rule for everyone.

  • Labels, replies, photos, questions and answers never count towards the score, and nothing a business pays changes it, the order of search, a Top rated list or what's featured.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • The score looks different from the average of the stars. That's expected: newer reviews count for more, and every place starts from the same point.
  • You think a review on a page is fake. Report it. A moderator decides.
