- Go to agoo.reviews/check and select Report a Scam, then sign in to Agoo Reviews if you aren't already.
- Under What are you reporting?, choose A phone or MoMo number, A social media account or A website, and type it.
- Choose Where did it happen?, if you know.
Under What happened?, choose the closest. For They pretended to be a business, choose the business on Agoo Reviews they pretended to be.
- Under Tell us what happened, describe it in your own words, in at least 30 characters.
- Add How much did you lose (GH₵)? and When did it happen?, if you want to.
- Select Add screenshots to add chats, payment messages or the profile, covering anything private first.
- Tick the box to say what you've told us is true, then select Send the Report.
Good to Know
- In the Agoo Reviews app: Discover › Check Before You Pay › Report a Scam, or It happened to me too under a warning. Add up to 6 screenshots from your photos.
- Call first. If you lost money, call your network's fraud line, then the police on 18555 or 191 and the Cyber Security Authority on 292. The sooner they know, the better.
- A person decides. A trained moderator checks every report, usually within 2 working days, and may ask you a question. Nothing shows to anyone until they confirm it.
- Many reports don't confirm anything. Each report is checked on its own. A moderator confirms what the evidence shows, however many people report.
- Your name never shows. A confirmed warning shows how many reports were confirmed, what kind, and the months, only to someone who looks up that exact number, account or website. Your story isn't shown.
- Your screenshots stay with Agoo's moderators and are never shown to anyone else. Up to 6.
- Impersonation: once confirmed, the real business's page warns its customers and lists its own contacts, and the business is told.
- Your reports are in Your Scam Reports in your account menu. You can answer a question, take a report back while it's open, or appeal.
- You can send up to 5 reports a day.
If Something Goes Wrong
- "Sign in to report a scam." Reporting needs an Agoo Reviews account, so we can tell you what we decide.
- "Type the whole number, like 024 412 3456." Include every digit.
- "Choose the business on Agoo Reviews they pretended to be." If the business isn't on Agoo Reviews, choose Something else and name it in what happened.
- "That's five reports today." You can send more tomorrow.
- "You've reported this already." Your earlier report about it is still open. Add to it from Your Scam Reports if we ask a question.
