Choose How Swaps and Open Shifts Work

   Go to ConsoleAttendanceSettings and find Swaps and open shifts.

   Turn on Staff may swap shifts and Staff may ask for open shifts, as you need.

   Turn on Swaps on the same shift stand without approval if you're happy for people on the same template to swap freely.

   Turn on The first to ask gets it if open shifts should go to whoever asks first.

   Under Who approves swaps and Who approves claims for open shifts, choose Line manager, Line manager, then HR, HR only or No approval, then select Save.

Good to Know

• Nothing changes the roster until it's approved, or your rules say it needn't be.
• Offers and claims already made keep going. New ones follow your new settings.
• On Enterprise you can choose a Custom chain of approvers.
• You can also open these settings from Change the rules on the roster's Open shifts and swaps.

If Something Goes Wrong

• Staff say they can't offer a swap. Staff may swap shifts is off.
• Requests sit with someone who's away. Ask them to name a deputy under Cover while you're away.
