Schedule, Limit or Password-Protect a QR Code

Set when a tracked code works, cap its scans, ask for a password, add campaign tags, or send devices and countries elsewhere.

  • Plans: Growth and up

  1. Go to ConsoleQR codes and open the tracked code.

  2. Under Controls, set When it works with From (optional) and Until (optional).
  3. Set a Scan limit (optional) for a one-off voucher.
  4. Add a Password (optional), 4 to 64 characters, that scanners enter before the code opens.
  5. Add Campaign tags so your website's analytics shows which poster brought people.
  6. Save each one as you go. Changes apply to every printed copy straight away.

Good to Know

  • Controls come with Growth, or the Advanced QR add-on on Free and Starter.
  • On Pro and Enterprise, rules send people elsewhere by Device (such as Android or Any phone) or Country. The first rule that matches wins.
  • Its owner is emailed once when a code reaches its Until date or its scan limit, so a code on a wall doesn't stop quietly.
  • Agoo keeps only a scrambled form of a password. If you forget it, set a new one.
  • Passwords only work on codes that send people somewhere, such as a website.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • People see "This code isn't live yet". Its From date hasn't come.
  • People see "This code has reached its limit". Raise or clear the Scan limit.
  • You don't see Controls. It's a plain code, or your plan doesn't include them.
