What Happens When Your Page Is Protected

When a burst of low ratings looks coordinated, a person reads every new review of your page first. Here's what changes and what you can do.

  • Plans: Every Reviews level
  • Updated 2 November 2026
  • 2 min read
  1. Open the email telling you the page is protected, or go to agoo.reviews/business and open your page under Your Pages.
  2. Read Your Page Is Protected on Overview. It says until when, and how many reviews are waiting for a person.
  3. Select Reviews and replies. If you know something about a review that's up, select Flag for a moderator and add your evidence.
  4. Keep replying as usual. Stay calm and factual, and don't say in public who you think wrote a review.

We email you again when the protection ends.

Good to Know

  • It starts by itself when a burst of low ratings looks coordinated: new accounts, the same network or the same words, far above what's usual for your page. We don't publish exactly where the lines are.
  • It's the same for every business, on every level, and it's free. You can't buy it or turn it on or off.
  • Your page stays open, and customers can still write. Every new review, good or bad, waits for a person before it appears.
  • The reviews already up and your score don't change, and held reviews don't count until they appear.
  • A trained person at Agoo decides, review by review, usually within 1 working day. Nothing comes down by itself. If a review is removed, its writer is told why and can appeal.
  • Readers see a calm note that a person is reading new reviews first. It says nothing about you or anyone who wrote.
  • You can't read a held review until a person has decided.
  • If far more reviews than usual arrive but they don't look coordinated, we may pause new reviews for a short while instead. It's the same promise: nothing already up changes.
  • The Agoo Reviews app says so too, on your page in the Business tab, with how many reviews wait for a person.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • A review that went up looks like part of it. Flag it with your evidence. A person decides; reports alone never take a review down.
  • Your own customers can't see their review yet. Tell them a person is reading new reviews first, and that it appears once they've looked.
  • You think a rival is behind it. Tell us when you flag, with what you know. Never offer money to post or remove a review, and never pay anyone who asks.
