This guide explains how it all fits together. For one job at a time, the short articles in this topic have the exact steps.

Agoo Forms

Make registrations, sign-ups, applications and surveys at agooforms.com, with Ghana's own questions, share them anywhere and read the answers as they arrive.

Agoo Forms, at agooforms.com, is Agoo's form builder for people, teams and organisations. You drag questions onto a page, share the form by link, short link, QR code, WhatsApp or on your website, and read the answers in a table and in charts. The people who answer need no account and no app: a form opens in any phone's browser.

The builder: a palette of questions, Ghana's own among them, a page of questions and the inspector.

Local Details, Weak Networks

  • Ghana's own questions: Ghana Card numbers, GhanaPost digital addresses, region and district, phone numbers written the way people write them here, and amounts in cedis.

  • Weak networks: respondent pages are light, keep answers on the phone as people type, and survive a dropped connection or a closed tab. Sending twice never makes two responses.

  • Sharing culture: WhatsApp from your own phone, QR posters for notice boards, short links that fit in a text.

  • Get started: Sign in, make your first form and publish it.

  • Building a form: Questions, pages, endings, settings and versions.

  • Levels and limits: What each level holds, and what Agoo plans include.

Get Started with Agoo Forms

Sign in at agooforms.com with an email code, make a form, preview it on a phone, publish it and share the link.

  1. Open agooforms.com and choose Sign in

Type your email address. A six-digit code arrives in an email from Agoo Forms; type or paste the code. There's no password to remember, and Agoo Forms never asks anyone for their code.

  2. Your workspace opens

The first time, Agoo Forms makes your personal workspace, named after you. Forms you make there are yours alone. To work with others, make a team workspace. If your organisation uses Agoo, its workspace is in the switcher too, or open it from Agoo Forms in the Console: see Your organisation's workspace.

You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft. If you already have an Agoo account under the same address, sign in with a code once and add Google or Microsoft under Account → How you sign in. Your sign-in lasts 30 days, and ends sooner after 14 days without use. Account → Sign out everywhere ends every Agoo Forms sign-in you have.

Lost access to your email address? Choose Recover your account on the sign-in page. Prove the mobile number on your Agoo account with a code, and give the new address you'll sign in with (it gets a code too). Every way in to your account is told, and after a 24-hour wait you finish on the same device: the old address stops working and every sign-in ends. If the recovery wasn't you, signing in with your address stops it, as does Not you? Stop it on your account page.

Make Your First Form

  1. New form

On Home, choose New form, give it a title and you're in the builder with a first page ready.

  2. Add questions

Drag a question from the palette onto the page, or click one to add it after the question you've chosen. Set it up in the inspector on the right: the words, help text, whether it must be answered, and its options. See Building a form.

  3. Preview it

Choose Preview (or press P) to see the form exactly as people will, on a phone or a computer. Nothing you send in a preview is kept or counted.

  4. Publish

Choose Publish. If anything needs fixing, the builder lists it with a way to each one. Once published, the form has a link anyone can open, and the Share tab has the rest. Every form is checked as it's published; most open at once, and the few that look as if they're after passwords, PINs or card details wait for a person on Agoo's safety team (see Safety, holds and appeals).

Your draft is saved as you go: on your computer at once, and to your account every few seconds, so a power cut or a closed tab loses nothing.

Agoo Forms On Phones and Tablets

The Agoo Forms app, for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets, does what agooforms.com does, wherever you are: sign in with the same code, then switch between your workspaces, make forms, share them, read responses as they arrive and collect answers in person.

  • Forms lists your forms with this month's responses against your level. New form starts one blank, from a template, or from a description you type or say for Agoo AI to draft; you read the draft before it becomes a form.
  • The builder sets the palette, the form and a question's settings side by side on a tablet. On an iPad you drag kinds onto the form and questions into place; on an Android tablet you tap a kind to add it after the chosen question and move questions up and down. On a phone you add questions with Add a question and open each to change it. Logic, endings and settings have their own tabs; Preview shows the form as people will see it, and Publish checks it first, marking anything to fix where it is.
  • Share has the short link, its QR code full screen for someone to scan, and the share sheet.
  • Responses shows what arrives across your forms as it comes, with each form's summary and exports. The bell shows what's new, and pushes tell you of new responses on the forms you choose in Account → Notifications. Straight after you sign in, the app shows what its notifications look like and asks whether you'd like them; Not now asks again in two weeks.
  • Collect fills in a form for someone in front of you, with or without a signal: see Collect Answers in Person With the Agoo Forms App.
  • Trash, from the top of Forms, lists the forms moved there, to restore or delete for good. A form moves there from its page, and Undo brings it straight back.

Levels are shown in the app as they are; changing one is done on agooforms.com.

Staff fill in their organisation's forms in Agoo Workspace too, offline as well, with photo and file questions, and the people who read a form's responses see the newest on Me: see Fill in a Form from Your Organisation and Read Form Responses in Agoo Workspace.

Agoo Forms In the Console

Make, share and read your organisation's forms inside the Console, with Home, Reports, search, the bell and QR posters.

Your organisation's Agoo Forms workspace is in the Console itself: choose Agoo Forms in the menu. It's the same workspace, with the same forms, builder and responses, as on agooforms.com, so you can use whichever is to hand.

The menu shows Agoo Forms to people whose role includes it (Owners, Admins, Site admins and HR by default) and to anyone already in the workspace, such as an Analyst who reads a form's responses. What each person can do comes from their role in the workspace.

Your Forms

Agoo Forms lists the forms you can see, in folders, as cards or a list, with each one's state (open, draft, closed), its version and how many responses it has. Search by title, filter by state and sort; make, rename and delete folders, and move a form between them from its menu. The same menu shares a form with people on Forms Team (Sharing a form with people) and moves it to the trash; Trash keeps forms for 30 days, to restore or delete for good (Move a Form to the Trash, Restore It or Delete It).

New form starts one blank, from a ready-made template, or from a description with Agoo AI (AI drafts). While your workspace has only a few forms, Start from a template offers four chosen for your kind of organisation: Add makes the form as a draft, with its questions, logic and endings, and opens it in the builder.

Below your forms, the workspace in brief: its level, your role, its people and editor seats, with Members and Open on agooforms.com for what stays there.

Building, Sharing and Responses

Open a form to build it: the builder, logic, endings, settings, versions and Publish, with the window to itself. The back arrow returns to Agoo Forms.

Share has the form's link and short link, WhatsApp, the QR code, the code for your website and the emails you get about responses, as on agooforms.com (Sharing a form). In the Console it also has the form's tracked poster: one of your organisation's QR codes that opens the form, counts its scans and keeps working if the form's address changes. Whoever may publish the form makes it, with Make and download; it never counts against your tracked codes, there's one per form, and putting the form in the trash or archiving it ends its poster. You can also make one from QR codes → New QR code → Agoo Forms form.

Responses shows the table, the summary, a response with its files, and the trash (Responses and exports). Sensitive answers stay hidden for anyone who isn't allowed them, and each time someone shows them it's recorded. An export downloads at once; a large one is emailed when it's ready.

Agoo Forms → Responses lists the latest responses across the forms you can read, with their first answers.

Across the Console

  • Home has an Agoo Forms card: the responses in the last 7 days against the week before, how many forms are open, any closing soon (by date, or near their number of responses) and the latest responses.
  • Reports shows the responses to your forms in the period you choose, by day and by form.
  • Search (⌘K): New form, Draft a form with Agoo AI, Form responses, and your forms by title.
  • The bell tells you of new responses in the last 7 days to the forms you follow: the ones you're emailed about, by your own choice on each form's Share tab (each response for a form you made, until you choose). It also says when the month's responses reach 90% and when Agoo holds one of your forms for a check.

What Opens On agooforms.com

Members and invitations, the workspace's settings, exports you've asked for, safety and appeals, and data requests open on agooforms.com, signed in with the same Agoo account.
